Preserving Ann Arbor’s charm and planning for a growing community that lives up to our progressive values is a significant challenge. If elected, I will bring my strong commitment to ethical and professional public leadership, my passion for fostering citizen engagement, and my many years of experience working on community issues to City Council. My experience includes:  

  • Fifteen years of professional work experience on land use, transportation, and sustainability issues:

    • Scenic Michigan Executive Director (current)

    • Clean Energy Coalition Program Manager 

    • getDowntown Program Director 

  • Eight years serving our community on boards and commissions: 

    • Ann Arbor Planning Commissioner (current)

    • Ann Arbor Zoning Board of Appeals Vice Chair

    • Ann Arbor Energy Commissioner 

  • Fifteen years of community leadership/advocacy: 

    • Washtenaw Bicycling and Walking Coalition Board Member & Past Chair

    • Executive Policy Advisor, Neighborhood Engagement/Transportation Safety

    • League of Michigan Bicyclists Board Member 

  • Extensive education in public policy, public administration, and governance:   

    • PhD in Political Science, Michigan State University

    • Master of Public Administration, Eastern Michigan University

    • BA in Political Science, Indiana University

  • Numerous roles/ hours volunteering at my children’s schools, including Bach Elementary Safe Routes to School Committee, Playground Build Committee, and Room Parent
